A major coffee chain will be opening in Letchworth town centre next week.

As Letchworth Nub News previously reported, workers have been busy fitting out the site on Leys Avenue - with coffee lovers being able to order the global chain's autumnal classic, Spiced Pumpkin Latte.

Starbucks opened its first store in America in 1971. Back then, the company was a single store in Seattle's historic Pike Place Market. From just a narrow shop front, Starbucks offered fresh-roasted whole bean coffees.

Fast forward five decades and the company is a global giant with thousands of stores around the world, including the UK.

The coffee giant has announced it is on track to open a whopping 100 new stores across the country by the end of this year - including the new site in Letchworth.

As you can see from our Letchworth Nub News picture accompanying this article, the store is almost ready to throw its doors open to coffee drinkers.

A source told us: "The signage has been installed - Starbucks is set to open next week."

Starbucks press office have been contacted for comment. See Letchworth Nub News for more over the coming weeks.
