Fresh from its run at the Roman Theatre Open Air Festival and described as 'an imaginative and modern telling of a traditional tale', Broadway will be hosting the acclaimed OVO series in the heart of our town. 

Broadway say: "We are excited to once again be partnering with the award winning and critically acclaimed OVO, kicking off a new programme of high quality live theatre with Romeo and Juliet.

"This contemporary re-telling of Shakespeare's beloved classic is set in Belfast in 1998, the year that the Good Friday agreement was signed. 

"Led with movement and live 90s music, this is a high paced, modern take on a timeless classic, and one you don't want to miss!

Amal Ghosh: Bridge - an Art Exhibition at the Broadway Gallery

The Broadway Gallery presents an exhibition of paintings by the late artist and educator Amal Ghosh (1933 – 2022). 

Amal Ghosh was born in Calcutta, India, in 1933 and attended the Government Collage of Arts and Craft, before moving to Britain to attend the Central School of Arts and Craft where he specialised in mural painting. 

Later Amal went onto to study at the Hertfordshire College of Art, St Albans. His work is held in major public collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum and Art Council England – and had been widely exhibited both nationally and internationally including Bluecoat Gallery, Liverpool, the Barbican, London and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

Charity Bridge Drive at Letchworth Settlement

Love playing bridge? Keen on helping a worthy cause while having a great afternoon? This is for you. Letchworth Howard Rotary Club's annual bridge drive in aid of Garden House Hospice and other Rotary charities returns.

Play your cards right with a terrific afternoon of bridge, with sumptuous tea included plus a raffle, all in aid of very good causes. Friday March 15 at 2pm at Letchworth Settlement (Nevells Road, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 4UB).

A Century of Swing with Down for the Count at Letchworth's Broadway Cinema

Get set for a raft of hit tunes coming to Letchworth soon. 

Down for the Count All-Stars are regularly found at world-famous jazz clubs including Ronnie Scott's in London - and now they are heading to Broadway Cinema and Theatre on March 24 with their new show, A Century of Swing, bringing the informal yet sophisticated atmosphere of these clubs to theatres across the country.

Described as "one hellova celebration of vintage music" by TimeOut London, their show A Century of Swing breathes new life into some of the best music of the 20th Century, treating audiences to joyous instrumental solos and sublime vocal performances.

Audiences can expect to hear songs from the likes of Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie and Glenn Miller, and classics from singers such as Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and Nat 'King' Cole.

Symposium: Indian Artists in Britain at the Broadway Gallery, Letchworth

To coincide with the Broadway Gallery's current exhibition 'Amal Ghosh: Bridge' we are hosting a symposium that brings together Art Historians, Researchers and Practicing Artists to facilitate discussions to showcase the importance and impact of the Indian Painters Collective and Indian Artist UK collective in Britain and to chart history and representation of Indian Artists in the British arts.

The event will run from 930am - 3pm and attendees will have the opportunity to hear from four distinguished speakers, participate in interactive Q&A sessions, enjoy lunch & refreshments and explore the exhibition Amal Ghosh: Bridge.

Life Drawing at the Broadway Gallery

Join our friendly life drawing session! Each month you'll be assigned a fun activity aimed at challenging your approach to drawing and understanding the human figure. 

We welcome participants of all skill levels, providing an opportunity for skill-building, practice development, and even those trying life drawing for the first time!

Basic materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Easels are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets: £15.00 or £10.00 for concessions.

Including "Be our Guest" and of course the title song "Beauty and the Beast".

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
