Here's an update from the popular Letchworth Rugby Club for Nub News.
Read on for all the latest on the rugby side from Legends Lane from club chairman Brian Burke and head coach Baz Basra
............
Legends start the second half of the season after the Christmas break in a healthy position.
Lying third in the table they are chasing down Old Priorians who are now only four points ahead with a nine point cushion behind them to Streetonians.
Having scored more than 400 points with just 200 conceded, the side has played a really attractive brand of rugby - with some memorable scores in the process to delight the Baldock Road faithful so far.
However, Legends head coach Baz Basra knows that every encounter will be a tough one and Letchworth cannot rest on their laurels if they want to continue their promotion hunt.
"We start with the visit of Grasshoppers who ran us close in October and then follows a tricky away trip to mid Herts rivals Hemel Hempstead who seem to produce good performances against the top sides.
"An improving Hackney visit us on January 22, with a real tester to follow at Fullerians at the end of the month.
"February 5 th sees a rearranged local derby with Datchworth and then the visits of leaders HAC and Streetonians which will be a hard call - but if successful could ensure a promotion place by April."[.I]
Legends are hoping to put out their strongest team available against the Hoppers next week Covid cases allowing - kick off is at 215pm at Legends Lane admission free
There is a pre league lunch as well and any diners are welcome.
