Central Beds Council have confirmed there will be a gritting run at midnight tonight.

Roads in our area carrying the highest volumes of traffic, with the greatest risk of accidents or providing key access will be given priority.

While this afternoon Friday, (January 26) will be a dry and bright day, with plenty of wintry sunshine about, and just a few light patches of cloud drifting by at times, temperatures will be dropping later this evening - prompting the move.

Central Beds Council say: "This evening and tonight, there will be clear spells but with a few areas of patchy cloud developing from the west in spots. 

"Road temperatures will drop below freezing. This means we will do a full gritting run at midnight."
