Letchworth icons David's Bookshop is inviting loyal customers to a special event to mark its 60th birthday next weekend

Letchworth's renowned town centre store has been celebrating six decades in existence in our town.

The bookshop, based at 14 Eastcheap is a haven for book lovers not just in Letchworth but across North Herts and far beyond - with Saturday (April 22) set to be a special day for punters.

David's said: "Next Saturday [April 22] Come celebrate our 60th - first 60 people through the door get a free tote bag, there'll be balloons and nibbles - come early for those - and more.

"Also, for anyone that's been after the signed edition of Kate Bush's latest book, we're holding a raffle for one, in both music and books, only throughout Saturday.

"The raffle proceeds are going to charity. Hope to see some of you there."

On March 30, 1963 David's Bookshop opened its doors for the very first time at Station Place. Fast forward six decades and the highly-acclaimed - and much-love bookshop is still going strong.
