What's On in Letchworth over this Coronation weekend

Celebrate the King's Coronation in style in the heart of Letchworth town centre this Bank Holiday weekend

The long weekend to mark the crowning of King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla is just weeks away - so, get set to celebrate the King's Coronation in style in the heart of Letchworth town centre.

A right-Royal celebration full of family fun, music and children's activities, right in the heart of the town centre is set to take place on the day of the coronation, Sunday, May 7.

Visitors can expect a live stage, music and dining spaces, interactive performers, crafts, kids zones, fairground rides and children's activities as well as a Coronation Celebration Parade.

Revellers can also expect busker spaces at this free pubic, event.

The parade starts at 1pm at the top of Leys Avenue and runs until 4pm, with free entry and all welcome.

Organisers said: "Join us to celebrate His Majesty's Coronation with this family friendly event."

Tom Karen - 1926-2022 - Rest in Peace 

2022 ended with the sad news of the passing of Tom Karen. Tom was the lead designer at Letchworth's OGLE Design, and is best remembered for designing the iconic Bond Bug and Raleigh Chopper.

The Museum at One Garden City is currently running an exhibition dedicated to his life and work, which has been extended to 15 April.

Letchworth Festival returns for 2023

The popular Letchworth Festival returns in June 2023 with a wonderfully varied programme of events that celebrate Letchworth's culture and community. 

The festival team are now busily working with local musicians and artists, clubs, societies and businesses to deliver an exciting Letchworth Festival programme for 2023. 

The festival will take place throughout the town over the three week period running from June 2 - 24, kicking off with the family-friendly music festival in Howard Park on the weekend of June 2 – June 4.

Save the date for one of the highlights of the Hitchin summer social calendar

The brilliant Hitchin Beer and Cider Festival returns to its usual spot near to Old Hale Way. 

Since moving from Hitchin Town Hall a few years ago, the community-minded festival will once again take place at King George V Playing Fields next to Hitchin Rugby Club on Thursday, June 15, Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17.

The event will boast more than 200 beers, ciders, perries and meads, with a number of sponsors including Lyndhurst Financial Management, whose name and soon-to-be new logo will appear on the festival's must-have iconic beer glasses.

Todd in the Hole

The Todd in the Hole team have been busy making sure this year is their biggest festival yet. 

With headliners including Ultimate Coldplay, The Rocket Man – a tribute to Elton John, Supersonic Queen, Judge Jules & Pat Sharp already on the bill they've just released their next wave of announcements for The Woods Stage. 

On Saturday festival goers can enjoy music from; The Saboteurs, The Desert Penguins, The Dirty Half Hundred, The Scallywags, Daisy & The Dukes, Meanstreak and Definitely Could be Oasis. 

Super Sunday in The Woods will welcome The Arctic Monkeyz, Chasing Mumford, Ska Britannia and Kazabian to Todd for the first time. 

With a brand-new Wellness & Wellbeing area and details of the Family Arena still to come, this is shaping up to be a perfect weekend. The camping and glamping offering which includes hot showers, posh loos, great coffee and even morning yoga means family and friends can enjoy the whole festival experience.
