SATURDAY

Sunset Starlight Walk

A walk to remember

Join us on Saturday, September 9 as we light up the night in this year's Sunset Starlight Walk.

Our hugely popular 6.5 mile walk around the streets, countryside and villages of Letchworth is a great chance to get together with friends and family, recall memories of loved ones and support the Hospice.

This event has a real sense of togetherness amongst walkers as early as congregating in the registration area - which only continues as the sun goes down and we light up the night. Fancy dress and glow sticks are encouraged, and there will be 'light' and 'sound' surprises along the way. Dogs are also welcome to join in the fun.

Key timings

5pm - Registration opens

6pm - Walkers set off

9pm - Last finishers

Tickets

£20 adults, £10 children (under 18) - includes a glass of fizz and a hot snack. Participants will also get a medal at the end of the walk.

SATURDAY

LDGA Autumn Show

This is one the highlights of the year for Letchworth District Gardeners Association.

A traditional village type show with displays of not just flowers, fruit and vegetables but also cookery, handicrafts and photography.

Both, members and non-members are welcome to enter exhibits; you don't have to be an expert to join in. There is a trophy for best newcomer.

If you're not exhibiting come along for a look round, there will be series of art and craft demonstrations and a produce stall. All this plus refreshments with home-made cakes and free admission for everyone makes it a great afternoon out.

Street Food Heroes set to return to Letchworth

Street Food Heroes are set to make a welcome return to Letchworth next month.

The popular event is due to make a comeback on Friday, September 22, from 4pm to 9pm in Broadway Gardens.

Fingers crossed the weather will be dry, and if so, why not pack your picnic blankets and camping chairs and enjoy a convivial early autumn evening.

Renowned local street food vendors will be confirmed nearer the time, but for the last event in June, Appy Days Catering, Dr Waffle, Chai stall, The Weeping Chef, Wah Gwaan Jamaican Cuisine, I Am Dumpling and Beats and Beigels all took part, producing mouthwatering, succulent fayre for hungry punters. While Banquet Inn Bars also served craft ales, cider, lager, gins, pimms, and Prosecco last time out.

Broadway Gardens, Letchworth town centre. Friday, September 22 between 4pm and 9pm.

For all the latest information on the event stay tuned to Nub News while also keeping an eye on facebook.com/streetfoodheroes1.
