Witnesses sought following incident on A505

Detectives investigating an incident on the A505 Baldock bypass are appealing for witnesses and information.

The incident occurred near the roundabout at junction 9 of the A1m, towards Royston, at just before 4pm yesterday (Monday 1 August).

It was reported that a man had exited his vehicle after coming to a stop. He was struck by another vehicle, described as being a rust orange/red colour, which then made off from the scene.

Officers attended, alongside the ambulance service and road closures were put in place.

The man suffered GBH level injuries and was taken to hospital.

Sergeant Mike Ball, from the North Herts Local Crime Unit, said: "Our enquiries are continuing at this time to establish the circumstances around what happened and to trace the vehicle involved. As part of this, I am appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or events leading up to it, to please come forward.

"I'd be particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have captured dash cam footage of the incident itself, or of a rust orange/red coloured vehicle travelling in the area.

"If you can help, please get in touch."

Anyone with information is asked to please email [email protected]
